cover blurb

This historical novel includes adventure and
a triangle between an American Colonial
planter’s daughter Kathryn and two suitors,
Martin a Patriot and Loyalist Brent during
the American War for Independence. Other
characters include a dynamic multiracial
girl, Sky, an orphan who is so poor she
has no last name and only the clothes
on her back plus the voodoo art learned
from her Granny. She survives by murder
and selling herself into slavery. Nicole
of Philadelphia creates a minor, second,
scandalous triangle with her obsession to
marry Martin Caldwell’s family fortune and
elegant mansion. Based on the era’s factual
history the story begins in Savannah but
moves to Charleston, Philadelphia, New
Jersey, Paris and London. Other characters
also “sell” themselves but not as bondage
slaves. One, a humble Minister’s daughter
to escape her strict parents. From Benjamin
Franklin and his diplomats of the period to
officers like Nathaniel Greene, Cornwallis,
Daniel Morgan, Banastre Tarleton, Mad
Anthony Wayne, Lighthorse Harry Lee
and others equally real but lesser known...
the gossipy politics and researched truths
of their personal and public battles are
included. There is no better, easier or more
entertaining way to learn our country’s
founding history in a nutshell.
