Whatta Week!

… but at least no self inflicted black eye. Sizzling temps and, not surprisingly, air quality alerts (those 20 cars idling 20 minutes to the nth power). Although there was one real winner in the Confederacy of Dunces contest who idled his car beside the no idling sign with windows DOWN! No doubt a visitor to our country who doesn’t “do” English.
A clever little nuance in my computer insists on deleting my rants in Emails, putting up cutesy phrase when I visit Amazon and messing with my computer game playing. Get a life!
This week they put in the locked status of our now gated community. I’m in the only unit without a fence. Nice except within 24 hrs saw pairs of shoes running down the open access in front of my house. Hmm… though still in my nightclothes (in spite of having just spent hrs. polyurethaning my stairs) opened my wood door to check on the lock of my glass /metal door. At that instant a kid 1.5 size came charging toward my door. Stopped, by my alluring exposed figure for sure, within 6 ft of me as I froze inside my foyer. I yelled at him (and don’t even feel guilty about it.) Screamed at the management company toadies, neighbors and our equivalent of a NY “super”(yeah, we in the US do this sorta (following) thing but don’t you try it… it’s OUR business) covering everything from the Rio Grande, holding tanks, Viet Nam and race (next door neighbor and super introduced that subject not realizing I have the Williams genome.) All responded by being as unimpressed by my rant as the kid had been. He had a small companion and backpack. Saw them less than 48 hrs later about 3 miles from my place.
Have a couple more coats of polyurethane to go on the stairs yet which I’ll finish tomorrow (bit of Scarlet O’Hara in that.) Have most of 2 walls in LR done in peach. Must take the shine off the enamel around doors and windows (1/2 done) and repaint in a complimentary color. End in sight though pretty distant!
Visiting older grandson’s dog ate my youngest grandson’s prized possession, learner’s driving permit. What with summer vacation guess he was lacking the usual homework diet.
Topped it all off on the upside though as I went out to dinner on Canton Street (Roswell’s artsy historic district). The occasion was Father’s Day in the US and though I’m not anyone’s father and have no father I was invited. Nice.
